Mathieu
Goudsmits started 26 years ago as HW designer of
cryptographic communication equipment for the NATO. After fulfilling
roles as project manager and product manager in which he was
responsible for projects up to 75M Euro turnover he started with
setting up and heading the Philips CryptoWorks group that developed
and sold conditional access system world wide. The group ended up
with having 35M annual turnover with a 30% profit margin when it was
sold to Irdeto. |

Ad Peeters studied Computing Science at Eindhoven University of Technology, where he obtained MSc, PDEng, and PhD degrees in 1988, 1990, and 1996 respectively. In 1995, Ad started at Philips Research, working on the further development and commercialization of Handshake Technology, an asynchronous circuit designed style aimed at energy efficiency and low electromagnetic emission. Since 2004 Ad is chief technology officer of Handshake Solutions, a start-up within Philips aiming at creating a business based on further expanding the technology in the market. |

Paul Havinga is associate professor in the Computer Science department at the University of Twente in the Netherlands and CTO of Ambient Systems in Enschede. He received his PhD on the thesis entitled “Mobile Multimedia Systems” in 2000, and was awarded with the 'DOW Dissertation Energy Award' for this work. His current research interests are in the field of ambient intelligence, distributed computing, and embedded wireless networking. Research questions cover architectures, protocols, programming paradigms, algorithms, and applications. This research has resulted in over 200 scientific publications in journals and conferences. He is project manager of several international projects on Ambient Intelligence and wireless sensor networks. In 2004 he founded the company Ambient Systems B.V., which develops very low-power embedded wireless networking platforms and applications, with a special focus on logistics and transport. |
